Supreme Court on Consumer Protection Act

This book is based only on the Supreme Court judgments on each section of the Act, 1986. Effort has been made to collect, compile and collate the law points laid down in the judgments of the Hon`ble Supreme Court. The Scheme adoped in writing this book is judgment-wise and subject-wise particularly under section 14 where various categories of relief are narrated. This pattern has been preferred because the Hon'ble Judges of the Supreme Court have laid down the law in appropriate and befitting language in the facts and circumstances of that case and it was thought proper that the readers themselves be given an opportunity to read the law as laid down in these judgments. It was also thought that the originality of the language used by their Lordships is not lost. However, for the facility of the readers, effort has been made to give reference of each topic discussed in one judgment to the corresponding topics discussed in other judgments. It is expected that the readers will have no difficulty to read the law on the topic as laid down by their Lordships of the Supreme Court in various judgments.This book shall be useful not only to the advocates representing the consumers in getting justice in accordance with law laid down by the hon'ble supreme Court but it will also be helpful to the Insurance Companies, Development Authorities, laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court to defend them. It shall also be helpful to the District Forums and Consumer Commissions to do justice between the contesting parties.
