Rebecca Lowe Beth Leonard, associate pastor of Hopewell Christian Church in the small town of Hopewell, Illinois, feels trapped in a life she knows needs some changes. Dealing with a condescending boss and a schizophrenic sister is certainly less than optimal. Then, as a snowstorm hits the community, young teens from her confirmation class get abducted. There is a clear message from the kidnapper stating these students will not be returned until Beth produces something he wants. Amidst all of this drama, Beth's boyfriend proves his devotion is less than stellar, and a stranger in black appears to her and states he has come to this small town for one to help her save her life. Will she find the kids? Should she believe the stranger and do what he says, even though some police officers think he is the abductor? Will she remain with her boyfriend and trust that he is not betraying her? And what, oh what, does the kidnapper want? It is only by trusting in God to lead her in the right direction, in honing her own detective skills, and by listening to her own gut instincts that she starts to find some answers and begins to find herself, as well.
