"Bite His Heart " is journalist Lydia Cacho's first novel. It tolds how Soledad finds out that she carries the HIV virus, just when she is living life to the full: she's young, married to an important hotelier of Cancun and enjoying the most of their two children. Three days after receiving the news, she decides to write down her feelings and to try explain to herself what is happening to her. The novel describes the torture of contradicting emotions and physical deterioration she endures, and that may cause her to die. It's not only Soledad's story, but that of many women whose husbands pass the HIV on to them. It's the story of numberless disintegrating families, of parentless children and of girls and boys whose days are numbered from birth. It's the story of a social, religious and political dilemma for which there is no agreement, whilst the problem grows and threatens to get out of control. It's the human side which statistics never reveal. A story that bites the heart . Murdele el corazn es la primera novela de la periodista Lydia Cacho.
