#33 Billy Bunter
Big Chief Bunter
Frank Richards Summer 'hols' again and everybody at Greyfriars seems set to have a really good time. Smithy has asked one or two fellows to join him in an expensive holiday on the Continent; Lord Mauleverer is off to the attractive Mauleverer Towers; and the Famous Five have been invited by Tom Brown to go to New Zealand on his father's airline. Only a disconsolate Fat Owl is left out, since, for some quite inconceivable reason no one appears to be at all keen to invite so charming a fellow as William George Bunter to accompany them.
Still, that trip to New Zealand would be just the job. Sleeping endlessly on warm sands and eating infinite mountains of delicious fruits - what could be better? That he hadn't been invited was, to Bunter at least, just a slip of the memory. After all, anyone could see that a pleasant and agreeable chap like himself was just the fellow to make any party a success. So Bunter's sense of justice, as well as less worthy motives, determined him to set abut righting such a terrible accident.
But even the vivid imagination of Billy Bunter could hardly have conceived the adventures that resulted - adventures that, among other things, saw the fat champ of Greyfriars made king of a cannibal island Big Chief Bunter, lord of the castle, cock of the walk, whose every food-filed whim was law and to whom even the Famous Five had to bow!
