Arriving from South Africa, Wade Topp and his parents join a wagon train to the western frontier.The lone survivor of a Sioux massacre three months later, Wade makes his way to a town marked on one of the wagon master’s maps, where Henry Rose, an old mountain man, arrives the following spring and asks him to be his riding partner.Upon his return six years later, he rescues a nine year old orphaned girl who was being transported west to be sold.
