At the turn of the 20th century in Croatia, a small-town dandy's quiet life is thrown into disarray when he is selected to escort the Madam Deputy Mayor to the town ball. Marcel is excited about what is to be the best night of his life and swiftly makes the necessary preparations. However, one by one, things go wrong, and the night turns from satire to tragedy.
