This is a story of slow terror, of a mind imprisoned in a nightmare. At the hospital they found that the unexplained freeway crash had left Claudia Terman with severe brain she lay in a coma, "dead" except that her brain was functioning feebly, in the theta rhythm range. The case developed particular interest for Dr. Scott Rand, the physical damage alone could not account for Claudia's condition. There was something else here....odd things began to happen in the hospital . . . It would be so just pull out the plug of Claudia's breathing machine. Someone was coming. But nobody could know who or from where except the comatose girl. The only clue to a killer was the silent scream of a terrified brain!
