Mending Fences

Matthew Stone, an aging rodeo star whose body is slowly breaking down, is reduced to taking small jobs at ranches as he travels from event to event trying to hold on to the only life that he knows. At one of his stops he enters the lives of a small family that is more broken than he is. The family has just lost the oldest son to a tragic accident. The father is trying to escape his pain by climbing into a bottle, the surviving son is ignored, and the mother is trying to hold together the threads of her family as best that she can. When it's time for Matthew to leave he finds that he cannot; there is a reason that he was brought into their lives but he has to stay long enough to find out what it is.
