J R Think, Cheech and Chong for a new generation.
Think, Dumb & Dumber meets Cheech and Chong.
Two friends fleeing for Mexico, turns into a joyride with no brakes....and the 1970's hasn't been more "righteous" until now!
Jobless and damn near broke, they are a spin-off of what you get when mixing drugs with no beer for breakfast and Sunday comics for toilet paper -- though living "tough" in the a decade where disco and hot pants blurres reality -- nothing is more paramount than good friends and high times.
Whehdoh (Wed-O) and Cheethoh (Chee-though) are in their early twenties. Whehdoh is a white guy who acts like an homeboy and Cheethoh, who is half-Mexican, is his best "bud". Whehdoh is confrontational, as for Cheethoh, he's docile and always worrisome. They're vulgar and crude with perverse innuendo's and witty remarks, but their comedic antics and slang makes you want to be their best friend.
In 1976, they're mistaken by the FBI as high level associates to a Mexican cartel gang called The Border Brothers. This is what gives them an opportunity to make off with a large sack of federal notes that was actually setup as a snare. Their destination - Mexico.
But with an ex-girlfriend interjecting, car troubles detouring, a disco party delaying, a hardcore, polyester wearing FBI agent named Holster tracking them (to name a few elements), odds are against their success, especially when you're wanted on federal charges!
It's a bad wrap thus far, but now add on kidnapping! When these two "trippy" capers gets the news media's attention during their police chase to the border, they're labeled as captors and are believed to be holding them Governor's daughter as a hostage! With multiple police cars jumping into the chase, news vans following the pursuit, not to mention every body who hold a grudge against them, Holster isn't far behind. But like all good endings, there's a twist....
1976 is a joyride with no brakes. Let's just hope they don't run out of gas before they run out of luck!
