Let There Be Blood

Summer, 1830. Lord Ambrose Malfine’s solitary existence is shattered by a murder on the outskirts of his estate. Forced out of his post-war rehabilitation by the possibility of gross injustice, he arrives just in time to petition a fair trial for the gypsy accused. The two victims, Old Crawshay and his son, were found by the mistress of the house with fatal gunshots... As Lord Ambrose looks into the events leading up to the murders, there are many questions to be answered. A lady of the house with a dangerous addiction to laudanum, a governess whose garments betray a wealthy background and a mysterious figure trespassing on a crippled leg all populate this compelling and dizzying crime.
