Cape Primary School: Pre - school language packs

The idea of the use of language packs with children of nursery age was conceived to fulfil a need within our school - a large proportion of children enter school with no pre-school experience. The creative writing of some of our older juniors led us to believe that we must initiate a scheme to develop the children's ability to express themselves and so develop a much better style of creative writing. The use of the language packs will, we hope, allow us not only to achieve this but also strengthen our home school links as this work will be done at home, and to show the parents whose first language is not English that their mother tongue is valued by school and that it has an important part to play in the development of their children. We hope that this work will ease the access to the full diversity of the curriculum.
