Traumatised and confused by two mysterious family disappearances during his childhood, Dan Carter, a drifting late 20-something, embarks on a quest for the truth. It’s time to trace his estranged father, Tony Cole, and missing uncle, Alan Jeavons. Nearly twenty years have passed since their sudden vanishing and the protagonists, mostly family members, are going to great lengths to protect the truth. Were the disappearances really mutually exclusive? Was Alan murdered? Did gambling debts catch up with him, or was something more sinister at play? In doing so, Carter is forced to challenge the very core of his family relationships.
