Nemo's cherished dream is to be able to speak directly to the Emperor of Ethiopia in his palace. But how can Nemo even enter the palace, how can he make his dream come true? One day, his mother tells him she must find work, so she and Nemo go live with the Thomas family from America. She is to be nursemaid to little Miss Abby, he to do odd jobs or carry messages for Mrs. Thomas. On the afternoon of the Emperor's party for the foreign children, Miss Abby becomes lost in the big palace grounds. It is Nemo who finds her. He leads her right up to the Emperor sitting in his beautiful golden chair. Nemo's longed-for chance to speak to the great man is at hand. This true story, charmingly illustrated, gives an enjoyable picture of a gay, lively boy achieving his dream through planning and some good luck.
