Penniless Heather Maxwell sets out to Yorkshire to take a post as a governess. During her journey, stolen jewels are discovered among her possessions. Mutual mistrust mixed with maddening attraction cause sparks to fly between Heather and the owner of the jewels, an arrogant man named Blackhurst.
