It helps her process deep emotions she encountered during her journey from diagnosis through her lifesaving medical treatments and the recovery progress. Sharon has taken the spirit of her successful life coaching workshop by the same name and has created a resource to reach women all around the world struggling with the same concerns. Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993 and uses her experience to demonstrate compassion, thoughtfulness and caring for those whose lives have been touched by cancer. She wrote Thriving Beyond Cancer to provide hope and inspiration to any woman facing her biggest challenge. Determined to spare other women the unnecessary trauma of her own experience, Sharon co-founded Breast Friends, an Oregon grassroots non-profit organization founded in 2000, "helping women survive the trauma of cancer...one friend at a time." www.breastfriends.org An integral part of Breast Friends, Sharon continually creates, implements and facilitates programs designed to relieve the suffering and emotional journey of patients undergoing treatment and help cancer survivors to thrive. Since the conception of Breast Friends, Sharon has given hope and inspiration to thousands of families. Her mission is always to provide women with the tools they need to move on and thrive after their cancer journey.
