A Texas rancher drives a herd of cattle into Ogallala, Nebraska, in the late summer of 1878 and meets the woman of his dreams. During the robbery of a Union Pacific train, the rancher is shot and the woman is kidnapped. It's the story of the two lovers trying to find each other again. The rancher chases the robbers to find out what they've done with his sweetheart. She escapes the robbers and, using the rancher's money, builds a store in Deadwood, which fulfills the dreams she and the rancher had before being parted. It's a tale of the old west as only R.O. Lane can tell it.
