Short story. A widow acquitted of murder aides an eelmaid sentenced to death. Sarah and Hester are united by a refusal to obediently die, but neither land nor sea will suffer them to live. With the weight of two societies bearing down on them, the women use every weapon they have--including claws, magic, and sheer righteous fury--to fight for whatever justice they can get.
