UNIT: The Secret of Foxfell Forest

September 1973. The fledgling UNIT has had a busy summer, tackling Tobias Vaughn and being infiltrated by the alien Jocransten. For Captain Turner, it’s been a summer of love with Isobel Watkins. But after the second Vaughn affair and with her uncle convalescing, things have become a little strained. Turner needs a mission to distract him. But Major Branwell has taken a platoon off to Spain, leaving HQ low on staff. However, when the gruesome deaths begin and the local police are flummoxed, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart finds he has to relent to Turner’s wishes and send in a team to investigate. Could the Night Hunters be more than just a local myth? What is hiding beneath the moor? And what really happened to Julian Villiers’ wife? Turner quickly forgets his troubles with Isobel as he stumbles upon the terrifying secret of Foxfell Forest. It’s a mission that pushes him and his small team to the very limit, and even the best-trained soldiers may not get out alive. This story runs concurrently with Iain McLaughlin’s The Catacombs of Seville and features the return of the Valethske from Nick Walters’ 2001 BBC Doctor Who book, Superior Beings.
