Chronically Dead

When Fiona Edwards--a type one diabetic who is tired of dealing with the toll of her disability--finds an ad on Craigslist by a vampire offering to turn anyone who can pay, she sees a way to cure herself of her chronic illness. But upon becoming a vampire, Fiona discovers that she still has T1D, meaning she’s a vampire that can’t naturally process blood or use normal means of managing her blood sugar. So, Fiona does the only thing she can do: kidnap a clinical immunologist named Dean Barnett, who has dedicated his life to finding a cure for T1D, and force him to help her survive as a disabled vampire. With his freedom in her hands and her life in his, Fiona and Dean work together to fix the mess she’s gotten herself into, but there are no simple answers, and nothing is easy when the supernatural is involved. As the idea of living with her condition forever looms over her head, Fiona will have to reconcile with what she’s willing to fight for, and as love blossoms between the unlikely duo, Fiona will come face to face with the wounds that drove her to that ad in the first place, and in order to save the man she loves, she’ll first have to learn to love herself.
