The Grain Men

Patrick Melmer wants to earn a name for himself as a great homebrewer. His beers are good — very good. But Patrick feels a desperate need to make them even better. When a local brewpub announces its latest homebrewing competition, Patrick struggles, then asks for help from his neighbor Deanna, a purple-haired specialist in healing and magical herbs. Deanna's advice? Patrick needs to use the August full moon, also called the Grain Moon or the Dog Moon, which happens to coincide with the traditional Celtic holiday of Lughnasadh. When Patrick's Lughnasadh beer is ready, the result is magically hoppy and flavorful — so good that it seems destined to make him famous. But after they get out of the hospital, will anyone who tasted his strange brew actually remember?
