Volume 6 of An Amateur's Journey Through the Bible, part two of the third division of the Hebrew Bible - Job, Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, and Daniel; seven of the most unusual books in the Hebrew Bible. Job and Daniel are acknowledged to be the most difficult for translators (Sons of Songs is no piece of cake, and won't make it pass Floridian censors), Ecclesiastes is blasphemous, Ruth and Esther don't address God. All were late making into the canon (Daniel had not made it by the time of Jesus).All reward study. Daniel, having been published only 150 or so years before Jesus, sets the stage for Jesus. Detailing Daniel is tedious, but necessary to defend the concept of history couched as prophesy. The New Testament would seem ex-nihilo without it.
