Between the ages of 5 and 6, it would be traumatic for any child to have their home bombed on two occasions during WW2. To witness it a third time and be buried in the garden shelter would be a mental breaking point for most. On this third occasion, he lost his grandmother, and his mother was hospitalised for 6 months.Brian's journey continues through post-war austerity life in a South London Council estate of Prefabs.After teenage years of cycle racing and 2 years of National Service in the RAF, his adult life takes on some interesting twists and turns envied by many.
