A promise given 1500 years ago by a Pagan Princess has kept an ancient secret hidden beneath the Cornish moors.A letter to Guy of Monmouth in the 11th century describes the discovery of a community dedicated to the protection of an artefact locked in stone.A murder in 1919 goes unpunished but still whispers across the decades.On leave in Peru, Alex Flete, Ian Mason and Jackie Lord were in leisurely pursuit of the wonders of the Incan Empire but, after Flete is injured during the dramatic rescue of a Cornish Doctor, find themselves entangled in an altogether different history. Someone else is also aware of that ancient promise and will do anything to secure the lost treasure. Flete and his friends quickly find themselves battling an unknown adversary, who has already proved murder is not an issue. In an attempt to find that ancient relic they must use the past against the present to save the lives of those touched by the ‘promise’ and prevent the loss of a legend that so inspired a nation.
