Set partly in Scotland and partly in England this novel aims to reflect the changes in the Anglican Church during the twentieth century as experienced through the beliefs, choices and decisions of one of its priests. I have written it in loving memory of my great-grandfathers, my father and my husband and also all those many good and faithful priests I have known over my own eighty years. I dedicate it first and foremost to my beloved sisters and family and also to all priests who are struggling to serve Christ and their congregations to the best of their ability in the twenty-first century.Elizabeth SutherlandJuly 2006
