They may be the worst guild in the history of vaulters, but they’ll have to do.Mazgar Baradan was a fish out of water when he happened upon Vault Wardens, a vaulting guild with the strangest group dynamic in the entire country. The tank is a shapeshifting druid who never picks profitable vaults, the necromancer paints her skeletal minions in cheerful colors, the dwarf rogue might kill him in his sleep, and the warlock is six months pregnant. Sadly, Mazgar may fit right in with the lot, because he’s a fire mage whose spells heal, rather than damage, although the flames certainly hurt. The plan should have been simple. Get accepted into a guild, learn some spells that actually do damage, fill his pockets with coins, and move away from the pitiful city of Lightmond. With a few successful vault runs, he should be able to go home to Castravar, a city of powerful mages who govern the vaulter community. That was the plan, right until Mazgar learned how poorly his kind treated those who do not share their heritage. The finding is so overpowering that his plans may have to take a drastic turn. Healing With Fire is a high fantasy tale in which vaulting (clearing out dungeons) is a dangerous, yet profitable profession. The book is filled with magic, stats, and RPG elements often found in video games.
