Rene Magritte - Le Domain Enchante - Galerie Isy Brachot, Bruxelles-Paris 1988

This catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition René Magritte - La Domaine Enchante presented by the Galerie Isy Brachot in Basel [14 June - 20 June 1988] and in Paris [12 October - 10 December 1988]. La Domaine Enchante brings together the main themes of Magritte's work. The mural, 71.30 metres in circumference and 4.30 metres high, which can be seen in the Chandelier Room of the Casino in Knokke-le-Zoute, was based on these eight paintings commissioned from Magritte by Gustave J. Nellens, general administrator and director of the casino. René Magritte personally supervised the execution of the mural, painted in oil by Raymond Art and his assistants, for three months.
