It was supposed to be one night. We didn‘t even exchange names. He called me Texas and I called him in California. We drank to a night we would never remember; with someone he would never forget. Morning came and I sashayed my way out of his hotel room with an extra sway on my hips and a smile on my face. That was supposed to be where our story ended, but now he’s here in Liberty Falls, my tiny hometown. Not only is he a fire chaser, but he’s here to replace my dad as Chief of the LFFD.
