"Huggins's stories are dark humor at its best. If the MCB needed a veterinarian, it would look for people like James DeGrande and Harriet Templin."-- Larry Correia"With All Creatures Great And Small, Huggins continues to deliver the kind of Pratchett-esque story that pulls you immediately into a dark, dangerous, and hilariously funny world. Experiencing adventures through the eyes of the Dark Lord's veterinarian wasn't something I knew I needed in my life... but I absolutely did!" --Kacey EzellI always say that when it comes to professions in the Empire of Dread, nothing can match the glamour and the glory of being the Dark Lord's Chief Veterinarian. Unfortunately, like all glory, you have to risk death for it, and like all glamour, it's completely illusory, and cast by beings who'd eat your garden-standard fairy for lunch.I have to admit that I thought being named Beastmaster might be the end of my money troubles, and Harriet's too. Of course, a veterinarian should have known that what comes out of "the end" of anything -- especially the creatures the Dark Lord breeds -- isn't going to be gold, silver, or anything else you want a handful of.I might be able to get out of it, and back to my regular practice, but first I have to survive the little matter of the Dark Lord's latest finding him a relic that will allow him to create any twisted creature his heart desires. And if you think that's a nightmare for your family, just imagine what it'll be like for mine...
