Sandy Jacobs, Daughter of FBI Deputy Director Carl Foster, is attacked and drowned in her bathtub at her Hilton Head condo. As a result, the FBI conducts an in-depth investigation into her death looking for the perpetrator.Annette Dupart-Stewart and her mentee, Abby LeDuc travel to the low country of Charleston, SC at the invitation of a car dealer to audit the accounting system and discover a thief. Annette and Abby are immediately dogged by a stalker who tries to abduct them on more than one occasion.As a result of looking for Sandy's killer the FBI becomes aware of a string of missing women, many of whom are found dead. The string of deaths from Atlanta to Charlotte point to a serial killer. Did a serial killer murder Sandy? Is the same person who killed Sandy stalking Annette and Abby.
