This book of insects, purely conceived of one single sheet of paper and folding sequences, is devoted to the world of ultrarealism in origami. Robert J. Lang, one of the greatest origami masters of our times, (Author of 'Origami Design Secrets', 'Origami Insects And Their Kin' among others) gives us many of the the most incredible and complex insects ever created in the art of paper folding. This book was made and the origami models selected particularly for those who enjoy (super-)complex origami, since every model is a challenge to fold. The results, however, worth it. The publication stands as a second volume and sequel to 'Origami Insects 1', which hold original designs by Fumiaki Kawahata and Seiji Nishikawa. Both volumes stand as both, an example and the very results for one of the most formative and defining epochs in the modern interpretation and development of the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, the so-called 'Bug Wars'. This book is not for the feint of heart - and you cannot achieve good results with just any kind of paper. However, through this publication and assortment of selected origami models, the author is offering some of the most challenging models ever conceived in contemporary origami. Each model comes with its crease pattern, and with Lang's short design comments. The publication encompasses step-by-step folding instructions (diagrams) as well as photos of the works of 18 original models.
