“I know, it was a bloody terrible thing to do,” he muttered. “Don’t think I haven’t regretted it … wished I could turn back the clock.” When Georgia’s husband finally tells her his bizarre secret involving Xavier Bishop, she is tempted to pack her bags and leave. How can she stay with Hugh when she knows he still loves someone else? But how can she go as long as she loves him? As if the truth isn’t strange enough, Georgia’s paintings and dreams are invaded by increasingly more frightening and vivid images that seem to be drawing her towards the very source of the confusion she is trying to avoid. As she contemplates her future, Georgia realizes that the only way to get what she wants is to ask Hugh for something that will be incredibly difficult – for both of them.
