But when her formerly timid friend Naomi exceeds even Grace's ostentations, deposes Grace from her own social circle, and starts a relationship with her friend Rick, things begin to get sticky. Kudos is a short story with a sting in the tail. Set an unspecified number of years into the near future, it follows the fate of four friends as they compete to be the darlings of the social scene. Written by R. Curtis Venture and previously only published on now-obsolete web sites, this story was believed lost to a faulty hard drive. It was recently unexpectedly found in the depths of an old .zip file. Now, re-edited and re-formatted for the ebook generation, with a contemporary cover, it is available for the first time as a standalone volume.
