The Second Novella of The Unholy Trinity! Rebecca isn't your typical eighteen year old; she's a necromancer trained by her father. And all she has ever known is loneliness, since her father lives as a shut-in with her now-deceased step mother. And when her father moves to resurrect his late wife, Rebecca is left in a difficult, impossible situation... Until Katie and Jacob arrive searching for Katie's mother. Excerpt: After a few moments, I saw my dad walking toward the standing grave. But he wasn't alone. He had some of his homunculi with him, and they were each escorting a small child, five in all, back to the mausoleum. Oh no. That's what my dad planned to do. He was going to attempt to use human sacrifices to charge his spell. And that was horrible enough, but to use children? No. I couldn't allow that. I ran from the room and downstairs, but was cut off by the doorbell ringing. I had a fleeting moment of panic and hope as I realized that might be the cops, looking for the missing children. But my dad would have considered that, and would have gone to great lengths to cover his tracks. And it wasn't like we received many visitors. I peeked out a side window, and saw a van taxi parked in front of the house. Did he call a cab or something? Or maybe he stole it to transport the kids? At least visitors might cause a momentary distraction to my dad, and could give me more time to figure out what to do. But I still had no idea who could be here. Well, only one way to find out. I opened the door and two people were standing there. One was tall and handsome, despite looking completely exhausted. But the other one caught my attention more. She was taller than me, but still very petite and athletic skinny. She was wearing a t-shirt for the band KISS, and shorts that looked to be a little too big. And even though she looked a little beat up too, there was no denying it. She was almost identical to the dead woman decaying back in the mausoleum, the spitting image of Rosalyn.
