Women of Ancient Egypt

Throughout the three-thousand-year history of ancient Egypt, women played an important role in all facets of life, with several of them becoming rulers and holding the all-powerful title of pharaoh. Unlike many other ancient societies, women in Egypt were treated with respect and had rights equal to men.
