The Roaring 40

A lump o' gold as big as a baby's head- that was what they were after. Badge Lorenny was at Port Davey with his Dad and Vik Viking. it was a wild and beautiful place, little explored and deserted- or so they thought. And then they became aware of an unseen inhabitant of Port Davey. A hand parted the branches of a tree... and the face of the boy who peered out had an eager, starved look. who was this wild-haired boy? How had he reached this desolate strip of coast? Badge could not guess that Old Harry, a 'hatter' who lived in their valley, and a boat called the Roaring 40 had anything to do with Ned, the boy who could not smile.
