The Box of the Dead

Ivadoile Spears, aged ninety-two was widowed early. She now sits at the table of her grand old house on Cape Breton Island, sifting through the photos she has taken from a small cedar box. The images speak to her now as she remembers all the people who passed through the Tide's Inn. We muse with her over the turns her life has taken--the characters who stayed with her between sea voyages, the loves she found and lost, and a parrot called Humphrey.
