The Noh: Volume One-God Noh

The first of two volumes of Noh translations. Following his excellent introduction, six plays are translated - all of the 'God-Noh' or 'waki-Noh' variety, one of five types of plays that form a traditional performing cycle. Chifumi Shimazaki worked as a translator, lecturer, script writer and marketing researcher, and studied Noh as a performing art under leading Noh actors and musicians for more than fifty years.
