Dale Scott is a boy from New York City. The boys called him a sissy because he couldn't play catch, couldn't ride a bike, or do a lot of things that boys do. When his father realized that he was called 'sissy', he sent Dale to his brother's farm in the country. Dale spent his summer at Uncle Bruce's farm. At first, he hated it. He learned to work on the farm and was out of doors, drinking up the sunshine and gaining strength. At the end of the summer, Dale didn't want to go home. His parents ended up purchasing a farm where they would live. That made him the happiest boy, Dale Scott, farmer.
