In this 1928 hardcover, artist/writer Charles G Shaw writes intimate personality portraits of very famous people that he was acquainted with. The book is illustrated by Peter Arno who was best known as cover artist for 'The New Yorker' between 1925 & 1968. Arno made a drawing of each person profiled in the book. The famous people profiled include F Scott Fitzgerald, Clarence Darrow, Gene Tunney, H L Mencken, Lillian Gish, Sinclair Lewis, George Gershwin, Adele Astaire, Robert Winthrop Chanler, Michael Strange AKA Blanche Oelrichs, Herbert Bayard Swope, Paul Manship, Deems Taylor, Texas Guinan, Helen Wills, George Luks, Ernest Boyd, Ralph Barton, William Beebe, Anita Loos and others.
