Socialism in the U.S. has gained in popularity in recent years, highlighted by the appeal of Bernie Sanders. The first chapter answers the question, "What's Wrong with Capitalism, Anyway?" and explores the shipwreck of daily life, militarism, and corruption and evil. The question, "does the U.S. have evil leaders in its military and intelligence agencies?" is answered. The wars and crippling of Iraq are examined in detail; the Iraq War of 2003 remains the international crime of the 21st century. Fascism is discussed, first in its historical manifestation in Europe. Secondly, the questions are asked whether the Republican Party or Donald Trump should be regarded as fascist. Another chapter covers the environment and its degradation under extreme capitalism. A further theme is the history of fighting back, whether in Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, Africa, or the House of Islam. Another chapter discusses the loss of privacy by court ruling - the overturning of Roe v. Wade - and by gradual expansion of control - by the National Security Agency, for example. Also, the topic "Can't the U.S. Just Become Like Norway" is set forth. Finally, the scourge of mass incarceration is discussed.
