In Kelly's "The present work attempts to examine the Quicunque [The Creed of Atahnasius] objectively, as a noble relic of ancient Christian literature and theology, in the light of the discoveries and advances made by patristic scholarship in recent years. At the same time it aims at giving much greater prominence to its structure, literary qualities and above all, theology than has been usual hitherto."
