Rashaad Bell On the Day of Epiphany, during the Fifth month of the yearlong mourning of NeoAtlantis, the Quantum Singularity appeared above the southernmost point of the crescent moon, engulfing the sky in such a blinding fury, that night became as midday.
Excerpt:
Enoch followed his gaze, peering up at the night’s sky as a dim yellow circle surrounded the crescent moon almost perfectly. “What is it?” He whispered to himself, having not seen or heard of anything quite like it before.
“It is called the Eye of Illyria.” His father announced with certainty. “And it appears only once every 500 life cycles, moving backwards through space-time until it breaches the Fourth Wall of Creation.”
Enoch glanced at his Father, who stood as still as fences, naked in the midnight summer breeze as two Female Synthetics appeared, draping a blanket of wooly, Sand Dune, Centipede pelts, finely woven together across his shoulders.
“It is said, my son, that if one were to sacrifice the Black Pegasus on this night, carve out its heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach, liver and eyes and have them placed inside thyself, replacing one’s own organs, then that person my steal the immortality granted the Black Pegasus by the Gods.”
The Father looked the Son in the eye. Neither spoke until Enoch could bear the silence no longer, breaking it with his own voice. “But how? How is that even possible? The Pegasus is but a myth, folk-legend. A throwback to a time before God Euthanasia.”
