Victorian Literature: An Anthology

This anthology provides basic source documents to enable students to study some of the main areas of literary and intellectual debate in Victorian Britain. By incorporating a variety of subject areas, the anthology allows students to examine the complex link between Victorian intellectual culture and literary production. It includes debates society; science and religion; art and culture; and sex and gender. An annotated collection, this work aims to provide access to sources and documents from this period, and includes most of the non-literary texts which students are asked to read in conjunction with Victorian literary works.
