Shadow of the Caravan

There was the promise of wedding bells, orange blossoms and endless joy...and then there was tragedy. Lida Bruce, accompanied by her elderly maiden aunt, journeys to California to marry the handsome Giles Castle. But when she finally arrives after a long and arduous trip by train and stagecoach, she learns that Giles is dead. Finding herself a stranger in an ornate and oddly forbidding Goldrush mansion, she knows not what the future holds in store.
