Flight of the Icarus

The year is 2135. In a small facility in Central Asia, a team of scientists are working on something that will revolutionize the known universe. It's known as the subspace engine, a faster-than-light drive system that will make instantaneous space travel possible. There are those who would like to see it succeed, such as industrialist Pter Frosen and Captain Susan Andropov, both of whom are heavily invested in the project. But there are those who are determined to see it fail as well, such as the international conglomerate known as the Triumvirate. They want the technology for themselves, and are willing to let people die in order for that to happen. And there's no shortage of people willing to oblige them...
