John Six Feathers finds himself transported back in time, along with the white woman who challenged him for her right to be at Wounded Knee Memorial one cold, snowy day. Waking from a coma, he realizes he has discovered the truth about what happened at Wounded Knee on December 29, 1890. Faith Donahey discovers her ancestry in a most peculiar way after an encounter with a rather unpleasant Rez Cop at the Wounded Knee Memorial. Through a series a dreams, her encounter with the man's family and her own ancestor's diary, Faith learns the truth of what happened at Wounded Knee on December 29, 1890. An accident on the highway, a spiritual intervention, and the truth as they knew it becomes the truth as they will tell their children and grandchildren down through time. This is their story.
