Lettersmiths Handwriting: A Visual Guide to Letter Formation for Practicing Teachers and Young Learners

This handwriting guide was created in response to a class who all struggled with letter formation. It provides a multisensory approach to teaching the skill of letter formation by providing a visual and a rhyme for each letter. In this resource you will find letters grouped into 4 categories based on how they are formed. It also includes classroom display posters and practice sheets for each letter. It is recommended that you include a range of opportunities for the children to practice letter formation in multisensory ways before practicing them on paper. Examples of such include making the letters in sand, rice, a partner’s back, etc.
