The Nautipuss cover became famous for its hilariously ridiculous subject matter, spawning a thousand posters, keychains, and refrigerator magnets. But the actual novel is even more hilariously ridiculous. So after nearly fifty years, we are re-presenting the original book, complete and only lightly edited.Someone is killing all the men aboard America's Ultra-Secret, undersea naval stations, removing their - scalps - and kidnapping all the women. Top Secret Agent 0008 is sent in to discover, and neutralize whoever, or whatever, is perpetrating this evil on the Free World. And even the not so Free World. But then 0008 is kidnapped by the nude, statuesque, golden skinned, Captain Demo - who has fashioned herself after that other famous undersea submarine captain - and forced to become her sex-slave. She considers herself an enemy of all countries, and travels the sea attacking everyone in her submarine, The Nautipuss! And she's nuts! So to save the aforementioned Free World he must find a way to escape her, destroy her sub without drowning himself, and rescue everyone else aboard. Demo he's fine with drowning, but everyone else - probably not. Only Demo won't let him out of her sight, and even forces him on her pirating adventures taking over other ships, tropical islands, and undersea stations! And he kind of likes it!Clyde Allison's style was a huge influence on other young writers at the time, talents like Donald Westlake, and is often called "The Greatest Unknown Writer of our Time." See why in this stupidly funny, witty and smart, surprisingly well written, and absolutely insane satirical sendup of James Bond.
