In Life Lessons, MPD detective Mac and high school teacher Tony decided that a relationship in the closet was worth the difficulties involved. Now they are briefly separated by Tony's trip home for the Christmas holidays. On the Florida beach, Tony contemplates the joys and stresses of a hidden relationship, while in the snows of Minnesota Mac tackles a murder case that hits close to home.
