Rhetorical Considerations
Harry Brent The fourth edition of Rhetorical Considerations comes at a time of increasing interest int he processes students go through when they write. This concern for the writing process has always been a major element in Rhetorical Considerations at the end of each essay and in the Rhetorical Analysis at the end of each seciton of the book, students have the opportunity to gain critical self-awareness of the process one goes through in writing a wide variety of cognet and coherent essays. As in previous editions, there are two tables of contents, one organized according to theme, the other according to the major rhetorical patterns of each of the selections. We have found it useful in our teaching to begin with narrative essays from the early sections of the book and to move toward those argumentative selections found chiefly near the end.
